Hey folks, I’ll be signing copies of my book at the Fantagraphics booth at this years Alternative Press Expo, in San Francisco this weekend. I’ll also have some minis of chapter 1 of my new book for anyone that wants one. Any of you that live in the Bay Area should come on down and say howdy! Here’s a link:

So hey - those of you in Los Angeles should come to my book launch at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood this Friday evening!  There will be a fine selection of box-wine for people and a fine selection of dog-biscuits for dogs…

Here’s a picture of my book - follow this link and watch the movie - it’s pretty hilarious :D

Screenshot from an episode of the old Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes series - so presumably, this is on the lawn in front of someone’s house in England somewhere…

This is, as far as I can recall, the only time my tattooist career and comics career have ever crossed over.  This is Kirby from Good Dog, tattooed on my buddy Mark…

You can see more tattoo stuff on my website:

Here’s a portrait of Kirby, without his collar, that I did over the holidays.

I will probably do more dog paintings because I love doing that - stay tuned :)

I have just discovered that my new graphic novel bears a striking similarity to an episode of “Malcolm in the Middle” - It’s season 6, episode 19: ‘Motivational Speaker’.

I swear I do not steal my ideas from old TV shows - now go on Netflix and watch it because it’s hilarious!

This is it, y’all - pages 92-94 quietly mark the end of our story and leave our guy feeling something too vaguely unsettling to properly describe in words… which is much how I feel, having posted the whole story in it’s sketchbook form.  The finished version will be out in April.  Thanks for sticking with me! Hope you liked what ya saw and feel free to tell yer friends :)

Pages 89-91 - Ivan becomes a stalker; this is cause for concern and measures are discussed…

Pages 86-88; we’re getting pretty near the end - Ivan makes a decision very few real dogs would make - but that’s the glory of fiction, y’all… I put in a piece of the finished art, too.

Pages 84 and 85: This very short scene has Ivan’s most absurd dream to date and a critical choice to make upon waking…

I changed the dialog and pacing on page 84, so you get both versions - page 85 is one of the very few full-page images in the book, but it’s just our guy staring at a chicken :)

Wah! A couple of posts back, I left out a key page in the chicken-raid/battle scene - It’s been retroactively inserted and the pages re-numbered so they are all correct now…whew, the world gives a collective sigh of relief…

Anyway, pages 81-83 have Ivan running into Oliver, who will take his leave.  It’s a short scene, but important as it sets our guy up for what follows.  Not only short, but badly-doodled, so I’ve included the script and a page of the finished art to make up for that :)
